Liberty from Wendy's Quilts and More

I'm back from the most amazing holiday.  We did a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, and then spent time in Edinburgh and London.  I loved it all.

While we were in London I had to visit Liberty - even though I don't use a lot of Liberty in my quilts.

It was hot on the day we visited and the store doesn't have air conditioning.  It's such an old building that we didn't even think to look for a lift, so we hiked up to the top floor to look at the fabrics.

Fortunately I ...

Liberty of London

Visiting London means for me visiting Liberty shop at the first place. The most wonderful shop! I love everything there, the atmosphere, the antique architecture, the products they sell and most of all the fabrics. I used fill my suitcase with Liberty of London fabrics!

My last creations : a crib baby quilt and a cloud pillow.

I find the Liberty of London fabric perfectly well adapted for babies, due to its extreme softness.
As well so elegant!

You can find those items and many others here : yayaCousette

Liberty of London Top & Skirt from Tea Rose Home

Where do I start to explain my love for Liberty of London fabrics? Ever Since I laid my eyes on Liberty of London fabric decades ago (I think I was in Jr. high), I have been a huge fan of their beautiful prints.  I got my first job in high school and bought my first Liberty tana lawn fabric. Even though it was a small pack of precuts, and I didn't know what I was going to make with them, I was so happy that I finally had a piece of beautiful and fine designed fabric in my possession ...

I’m Crazy…about EPP!* from a daily dose of fiber

In January I started cleaning my office and studio and weeded through the accumulation of supplies (fabric, more fabric, WIP’s, etc….) and I still am not quite as organized as I would like to be. I told myself that I wasn’t going to start any new projects until I finished cleaning, but then I did work on a few {small} English Paper Piecing Projects.

I bought this pattern from PaperPieces – I love heart patterns and this one was irresistible. I made three versions of Chrysanthemum Hearts .The first one was pink for Valentine’s Day…

…and the other ...

Monday Updates: Spirit Song Quilt, Frankenwhiggish Applique, a New Fabric Shop, and a Puppy Portrait from Cheeky Cognoscenti

Hello and happy Monday!  The "little one" (my 6' tall 16-year-old son) is back to high school today, but I still have my 19-year-old son home for a few more days before he heads back to college.  Now that it's Epiphany and Christmas has officially ended, Bernie is taking down our Christmas trees today.  I've been sewing 4" Birds in the Air blocks together over the weekend for my Spirit Song quilt (whose color palette was inspired by the contemporary choir dress code colors for which I never have anything to wear).

First 16 inch Block Sewn Together ...
